Christmas of Dreams Blog Party Day 3

It's day three of the Christmas of Dreams Blog Party! Like I said before, you need to rush over to MomDot right now to start partying like a rock star! So here goes, the question of the day is:

When do you start Christmas shopping? How do you budget for Christmas? Do you stick to your budget?

Well, the past few years I have been a last minute shopper. Not that I want to be, it just always seems to happen that way. I used to do everything on Black Friday. I love me a good deal and the rush of being up with the army of shoppers before dawn was awesome. Maybe, I'm getting to old for it now, because it's just not as appealing to me anymore. I really try hard to stick to a budget because I have five kids and the older they get the more expensive they are. It's not easy, but necessary.

Today's party is sponsored by Appledonia, Hippos Toes and My Bag.

  2. I look forward to Black Friday with dread. It's such a love/hate thing for me. The deals are wonderful, but the people usually aren't. Not sure if I'm up to it this year or not.

I am only getting up at the butt crack of dawn if the deal is unbeatable, otherwise I just head out after Breakfast

  8. Yeah our days of a shoe box are limited. My kids are getting the age where they are actually able to tell me what they want. I still have another year or two with my little girl not really caring.

  9. The thought of Black Friday makes my skull try to separate. 5 children to shop for? Can we say ouch?

  10. I only went Black Friday shopping one time, it was with my mom and aunt and I was probably 12 or 13 years old. It was a nightmare and people were so rude, I'll never go again.

  12. I could not be more excited about xmas! I have never been shopping the day after Thanksgiving. I'm usually working.
This year we are keeping it small. We are decorating our home, of course, but we will be giving only a couple of presents to each child. And Michael and I are putting our present money for each other into our fund to try to have a baby.
