It was almost two months ago that I started this blog. The idea was to simplify my life and combine my two existing blogs. I was sure this was the perfect solution to my overloaded schedule. I'm a busy mom (as are most moms) and I really wanted to be able to continue blogging to connect with others who can relate to me. This was the answer.
After creating my new little place in the blogosphere, I became "homesick" for my old blogs, so back to the old way I went. I abandoned my dream of one blog that I could write about all aspects of our lives. I was afraid of change. I'm not sure why, but indeed I was! Today I sat at my desk and made the decision to move forward. Does it really matter where I blog, or how many followers I have? When I started blogging, I was alone. No one read my posts, but that did not stop me from writing them. I did it because I enjoyed writing about our family.
With that said, I am starting over here and now, with a clean slate.

I think for the first 6 months of my blog, my sis, hubby, and MIL were the only ones that read it! After 2 years I still have to remind myself sometimes that I started it to document my life as a mom and not to take it personally when I lose a follower.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of your new blog, Sandy! :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I like the logo at the top!
ReplyDeleteOf course I liked your old one too. It was very Christmassy and I like that sort of thing!
Yay for new beginnings and clean slates!! I look forward to more of your fabulous posts!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the layout-who did it? super cute and simplifing is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteI love the new blog look. So clean and classic!!
ReplyDeleteLike Georgie sez simplifing is a good thing. Something I am considering myself.
Like Ali and you say it is really not about followers. It is about having fun, documenting and if you make friends that just makes the pot even sweeter!!
So are you going to get rid of the Just For Fun blog and put everything on this one? Just wanted to know so i dont miss out on any of your great ideas :)
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Go for it! And good luck! :D
ReplyDeleteI've seen your face on the FT portal for so many months....it's nice to see you outside! I didn't know that you were also a mom of 5 kids!
ReplyDeleteYour new blog has a very nice "clean" look to it too! ;-) I'm following!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I'd seen your name on FT for a while...it'll be nice to "know" more about everyone - seems like there are a lot of mommy bloggers out there.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see your old blog, but I love the look of this one :)
Well, no matter where you are, I will follow!
ReplyDeleteOh, I like the look...and am a firm believer that a blogs worth is not based on the number of comments or followers, its more like smiling at a stranger...you never know how far of an impact that one smile may have!
ReplyDeleteLove the new digs! Fresh starts are great! :)
ReplyDeleteVisiting from SITS. I wrote a similar post not too long ago. I love what you wrote about writing just for the sake of writing, blogging can certainly become competitive and it's so easy to get wrapped up in the other stuff and forget about the writing.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in reading what you have to say, so I'm following.
Looks great Sandy!
ReplyDeleteOK, I'm here! I'm happy you're happy, because that's all that matters!!!
ReplyDeleteHi...finally found your new blog. Beautiful! So, I have to ask....what does SITS and FT stand for? Saw it in some commenters posts above.
