Hand Print Apples in a Basket

It's really beginning to feel fall-like around here. So, sticking with that theme, we made a basket of apples today!
Start off by painting the palm of your child's hand and printing it several times on a piece of construction paper. Add some stems and leaves.
Next, I cut strips of brown paper to create a basket covering the apples. Older kids could weave this, but Stella is just 2 so I just applied the glue and let her stick the strips to it. After she placed the strips on, I cut the ends off to make it look more like a basket. It's finished!

*This is what happens when you walk away from little Miss Stella and she can reach the paint...

  1. This is such a cute craft! I love it when children extend the canvas they are painting on.

  2. Such a cute idea! I think I will try this with my girls and substitute using edible finger paint since my youngest is 11 months. Thanks!

  3. Super fun. The photo at the end will probably end up in her slideshow at her wedding!

    1. We have lots of embarrassing photos for her in the future! ;)

  4. Love this! My 3 year old is sitting next to me and we just decided to try this craft this afternoon. Can't wait!

  5. I love this craft! Your little one is adorable.

  6. I love this craft so much! I Pinned it and Stumbled it!! :D

  7. Such a sweet way to preserve your child's handprints! I'll be featuring this on The Crafty Crow soon!
