Friday Book Projects

The book we chose to read this week was The Biggest Snowball Ever by John Rogan. Our project was a special one for my kids. They love to cook so we made a recipe that Aaron once made at school. No Bake Snowballs!

Here's what you will need:
2/3 cup butter or margarine-softened
1/2 cup sugar
1T. water
3T. cocoa
1/2 t. vanilla
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Mix the butter and sugar together. Add the water, cocoa, and vanilla. mix well. Add rolled oats, mix well. Roll about 1 tsp. of the mix in your hands to form a ball. Roll in powdered sugar.

Ours turned out a little like dirty snowballs because we did not put enough powdered sugar on them. But the kids had fun making them and that's all that matters:) Enjoy!

  3. Yummy!

We read "The Snow Speaks" by Nancy White Carlstrom.

The project we did was make a snow background on paper with cotton balls as snowmen.

I think the girls just wanted to play with the glitter paint. Which would have been okay, but the 2 year old keep screaming that she had glitter on her hands. Oh Boy!
