The Crack Epidemic

Yesterday, my Mom and I took the kids for a day of fun at the lake. The weather was gorgeous and although stepping in the water was like diving into a glass of ice water, everyone had a great time.

The only problem....

there seems to be a crack epidemic this summer!

Bath Time Paints

With summer activities in full swing, we have been collecting our fair share of dirt! These girls like to dig for worms, make mud pies and collect rocks just like their big brothers always did. They don't, however, want to stop their play to come inside for a bath! So, when the day is done I must wrangle to two dirt collectors in to scrub away the grime. But, I have found a new tool to make this process a bit easier....bath paint! It's very simple,

2 TBS. liquid soap or baby bath
food coloring

Mix it together and allow your little ones to paint a masterpiece on the shower walls! When they are finished, just rinse it down the drain! Bath time suddenly has become a whole lot easier:0)

Mm-Moon

I'm here! I know I have been absent a lot recently and I thank all of you who have stuck around. Our summer has started off being very busy! I hope that I have the new schedule down so that I can post regularly again. Whew! I am starting back slowly with an addition to our alphabet book. Mm-moon! Very simple! I'll be posting a few more letters this week so that we can soon wrap up this book:0)

I've Been Tagged!

Vickie of Vickie's Scrapbooking and Tidbits has tagged me with a photo tag. I had to go to my first photo file and find the 10th photo! So here it is!

This was Christmas eve 2005. My niece Lauren is holding sweet Madelyn. That was way back before she grew her crazy curls:0)

Now, I am tagging you:

Random With a Touch Of Porn!

Well, I have been a slacker lately! Not much going on here but hanging out with my kids and enjoying the start of summer break. Saturday, Mike and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary! I can't believe Big Daddy has put up with me for that long! He's awesome! Of course we celebrated with pizza, duh! As if there is any other way! Seriously, after things stabilize at his job and we have some extra money, we will actually have a "date" night. A much needed date night!

Our weekend was normal and boring as usual. We had a family reunion yesterday and then we went to visit my Gramma. The girls spent the afternoon making oodles of bead necklaces with my Aunt and Cousin. They had a blast and found a new hobby in the process. After that, we took the kids out for ice cream! Felicia got a small cone which I believe may have been about a half a foot tall. Her cone broke and ice cream was dripping down her arms and all over that table! It was hilarious watching her try to keep up with the dripping ice cream! Her tongue definitely got a workout! I wish I had my camera with me:)

Oh yeah, about the porn. Yesterday(while at church!) I apparently sent porn to all of my Facebook friends! How about that? Me, porn?! It turns out that my account was hacked and the bogus messages included a worm. Not cool! Although I was mortified at first, now I can't stop laughing at the thought of my friends thinking I was naughty;0)

I hope something exciting happens this week for me to blog about! Until then, have a fabulous week!

Catching Up on Awards!

Wow, I have been so busy lately! I just can't seem to fit everything I do into one day. Unfortunately, blogging seems to be the thing that is left out of my day, more often than not. I hope I can start getting back in my groove soon. With that said, I have some awards to claim and some awesome bloggers to acknowledge!

This first award I received from the lovely Anissa of Our Chaotic Life! I was not that long ago that I found her blog, but I am loving it! Thank you so much Anissa! I really appreciate it:0)

I received the next award from Michelle at Lollypops and Lizards! Michelle is also fairly new to me, but I have enjoyed reading her blog as well. Thanks Michelle!

This last award is from my dear friend Vickie from Vickie Scrapbooking and Tidbits! We have been bloggy friends for quite some time now and I really value her friendship! Thanks Vickie!

I do apologize for taking so long to post these awards. That does not at all mean I don't appreciate them! Thank you so much for your kindness:0)

Re-Post Feeding the Birds

I thought I would share an old post about making bird feeders to go along with our bird theme for the week!

We spread some peanut butter on a few pine cones.
Then we rolled them in bird seed.
Be careful, it can get a little messy;0)
We then strung some Cheerios on a piece of yarn. Don't forget to tie a knot in the end. I also put a piece of tape around the end so that it would not fray.

After we finished the bird feeders, we hung them on the trees outside. I'm sure the birds will enjoy their treats:0)

Hand and Foot Peacock!

We are really trying to get back in the swing of things here, now that the end of school year craziness has died down. Whew!

This week is for the birds! My girls love all kinds of birds! They love feeding them and making their own bird sounds! So I thought a whole week dedicated to birds would be perfect!

Our first feathered friend this week is the Peacock! Many of you know that I love doing projects with hands and feet, so here is another fun way to do that!

1. Using your child's hand dipped in blue paint, print several hand prints to form a rainbow on a sheet of paper.

2. Repeat step 1 on the inside of the blue rainbow using green paint. Be sure to overlap the colors.

3. This is the tail feather of your peacock.

4. Trace your child's foot on a piece of construction paper.

5. Add eyes, a beak, and feet.

5. Glue the body of the peacock to the tail feathers and now you have a peacock!

Kindergarten Here I Come!

Last night was the night that Felicia has been waiting for. She graduated from preschool! This is a great big step for her! Felicia has always been very attached to me. In the beginning of preschool, she begged every day to not go. I would drop her off with some tears, knowing that this was what was best for her. It was not long before she was asking enthusiastically if it was a school day! She loved it! I am so proud of my little girl! She really would like to start kindergarten immediately! My little girl is on her way to being very independent!

Sidewalk Paint!

We have been enjoying some family time lately! Here is one of our favorite outdoor activities! I hope you enjoy it:0)

This is always a big hit with my kids. They could do this for hours. Just combine 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1/4 cup water. and 6-8 drops of food coloring. Give them a bunch of paint brushes and turn them loose on the sidewalk. The paint dries to look just like a sidewalk chalk creation!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice?

Prior to 2004, I was a Mom of three boys. My three sons. We had trucks and trains and Legos. We dug in the dirt and played football. Soccer games were attended often. I loved being a mom so much that with each baby, it did not matter in the least what their gender was. I was so convinced that I was a "boy mama" that I was in complete disbelief when at my utlrasound for my fourth pregnancy, the tech said those words I thought I would never hear. "It's a girl!" It was exciting news. How could we be having a girl? After a few weeks of letting this sink in, I began to dream about the days when my little girl was here with us. Dressing her up in pretty dresses, her hair perfectly done. She would play with dolls and host tea parties for her big brothers. For surely she would have them wrapped around her little finger. She would be our princess!

Boy was I wrong!
