O is for Owl

I am in love with owls! So when Stella asked to do letter O for our next alphabet page, I knew right away what we would make.

Making our owl was simple. I cut out the parts:

F is for Foot

What could be easier than a foot print for our letter F page? Stella loves having her feet painted, so this was perfect for her! We'll be sharing more alphabet pages soon. 

 

I is for Igloo

We are still feeling the arctic blast around here, so an igloo seemed like the perfect thing to make for our letter I page.

I traced out the shape of the igloo and Stella glued on some small rectangles that we cut from white paper. Super simple!

 

H is for Hearts

Valentine's Day gave us the idea for this page in our alphabet book! Stella painted some cookie cutter prints and then added an H and a few heart stickers. 

 

S is for Snowman

Stella and I have finally gotten busy making her Alphabet Book. This time around I've decided instead of working alphabetically, we will be jumping around and because the theme of our week appears to be snow (we're on our second snow day this week!), our first letter is S for SNOWMAN!

 To make the "snow" for our snowman, we used a hole punch and white paper. The big girls are always wanting to use it, so they were a big help.

I spread the glue around for the snowman and Stella's job was to add the snow and other details.

Alphabet Book {Take 2}

Those of you that have been readers of Moments of Mommyhood for a while may remember the Alphabet Book that I made with Madelyn and Felicia several years ago. We made a page for every letter of the alphabet and put them together in a binder. While we still have that book, I thought it would be fun to create a new book with Stella. I plan to get started on it next week! We are hoping to do a letter a day which should help keep us busy while we are stuck inside from the cold. Blah!

 

Zz-Zebra

We have finally finished all the alphabet pages for our alphabet book! Of course we couldn't finish our book without a Zebra! We made our zebra the same way we made our pony, but we added a few stripes.

Yy-Yellow

It was Madelyn's turn to choose what we did for letter Y and she chose yellow! Easy enough! We just did some simple finger painting.

Xx-Xylophone

We are getting closer to the end of our Alphabet book (finally)! For letter X, we made a xylophone! This morning Madelyn asked if we could start over again! I'm glad she is enjoying it, but we'll have to see about starting over, it took me forever to do it the first time. LOL! Maybe we will do something with lowercase letters next time around, who knows. Ww-Waves

Our W page was very easy to do. I just cut some simple waves from construction paper and the girls glued them on. To check out our other Alphabet pages, go here.

Vv-Vase

Here is our V page. We made a vase filled with flowers that the girls made with their fingerprints. For more alphabet pages go here!

Uu-Umbrella

We have some catching up  to do with our Alphabet Book, so today I give you letter U! It's nothing special, just a simple umbrella. To make it a little more fun, we used scrapbooking paper. You could also use wrapping paper or even wall paper scraps.

Tt-Turtle

It's time for the letter Tt! Turtle starts with T, so that's what Madelyn wanted to make! 

1. Draw a turtle shell on a piece of construction paper.

2. Add a head, feet, and a tail.

3. Cut some scrap paper into small pieces.

4. Glue the cut up pieces on the turtle shell.

5. Add a T and your page is complete!

Ss-Spider

S is for spider! Although, I am not a fan of creepy, crawly things, I can tolerate these spiders!

1. Paint your child's hand without painting the thumb.

2. Print it on a piece of construction paper.

3. Repeat with the other hand facing in the opposite direction.

4. Add some eyed and the letter S!

Rr-Rainbow

Nothing says Rr like a bright and colorful rainbow!

1. I drew the lines of a rainbow as sort of a guide for Madelyn to follow. She didn't exactly stay in the lines, but it did help her to follow the curve of the rainbow.

2. Using her finger dipped in paint, she made fingerprints along the lines. Continuing until she used all of the colors of the rainbow.

3. Then we added an R cut from construction paper.

Qq-Quilt

I am finally caught up on our alphabet book and this is our first "new" page! Madelyn really enjoyed making this one because it involved glue and patterning!

1. I cut some "quilt squares" from two different colors of construction paper, using my decorative scissors to make the edges pretty!

2. Then, Madelyn glued the "squares" to another piece of construction paper to create a pattern.

3. After her quilt was finished, She added a Q cut from construction paper.

4. Here is the finished page!

Pp-Pony

1. Cut out a letter p and glue it to a piece of construction paper.

2. Trace your child's foot with their shoe on.

3. Cut out the traced foot and glue it to the paper along side the P. Be sure to point the toes down toward the bottom of the paper. I also added another small piece of paper in the shape of the pony's neck.

4. Add details to your pony and you are all finished!

Oo-Octopus

Moving on to Letter O! You can make this octopus by painting your child's hand(everything but the thumb) and pressing it on a piece of paper. Repeat with the other hand by overlapping on a slight angle to create 8 tentacles.

Nn-Numbers

Moving on through the alphabet!

Mm-Moon

Letter M needs very little explanation. We just cut out a moon and Mady glued it on along with the Letter M!
