Revisiting Muffin Tin Meals

When Felicia and Madelyn were younger I began making muffin tin meals and participating in a weekly meme to share them with others. They looked forward to them so much and when Stella was old enough to join in the fun, muffin tin meals quickly became her favorite way to eat anything and everything! They helped me to get my kids to try new foods and got us over the "I'm not eating vegetables" phase that Madelyn went through.

It's been so long since we have done one. In fact, there is no longer a link-up for Muffin Tin Monday. :( But, Stella has started asking for one, so today I surprised her with a muffin tin lunch! It's nothing fancy, but you would never have guessed that by her squeals of excitement. I think we'll be doing them a lot more and I am sure when the big girls get home from school, they will be begging for one too.

She had popcorn, yogurt, cucumbers, apples, a frog shaped sandwich, and ranch dip.

It's amazing how such simple things make the little ones happy!

 

Celebrating Dr. Seuss {Muffin Tin Monday}

Today we are celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss by having a special lunch in his honor!

 Stella's lunch includes:
~green eggs
~ham in the shape of S for Seuss
~"Star-belly Sneetches" (star shaped cheese and crackers)
~pretzels (just because Stella wanted them) 
~Oobleck (yogurt w/green food coloring)
~The Cat's "Hat" (apples on a skewer)

Muffin Tin "Sundae"

Sweet treats is the theme for Muffin Tin Monday and there is nothing sweeter than ice cream, so I treated the littles to a muffin tin sundae bar! Here is their sweet treat:

Each girl had their own dish of ice cream and shared the tin filled with:

-sprinkles

-chocolate syrup

-bananas

-cherries

-caramel

-chocolate chip cookie crumbs

I'm pretty sure this is their favorite Muffin Tin Meal!

Love is in the Air {Muffin Tin Monday}

Love really is in the air! The girls LOVED this Muffin Tin Meal!

Our muffin tin meal contains:

• a grape tomato heart with ranch dip (I found this idea here.)
• yogurt with sprinkles
• heart shaped apples
• a mini Babybel cheese 
• PB and J sandwich (I found the toast stamp at Wal-Mart)
• Elmo cereal for the X's and O's

Muffin Tin Monday {Taco Night}

We've had taco night for Muffin Tin Monday in the past and it was always a success. I'm not one to mess with perfection so we had it again tonight! I was not at all surprised when the girls squealed with delight when I asked them to pull out the muffin tins. Here's what they had:

sour cream, lettuce, black olives, cheese, salsa,

tomatoes, taco sauce,  and seasoned beef

A Holiday Muffin Tin Meal {Day 10}

We are feeling quite festive around here lately so a Holiday Muffin Tin Meal was in order! Stella loved it as usual! Check out some more Muffin Tin meals here:

A Few of Her Favorite Things {Muffin Tin Monday}

Today is Monday and Mondays are made for Muffin Tin Meals! The truth is, I've been slacking in the muffin tin meal making department. :( However, my girls love them and so do I, so we are back on MTM wagon! On Friday, I surprised my big girls with a muffin tin meal in their lunch boxes. It was a big hit, but I forgot to take a picture of it before sending them off to school. I just put some silicone muffin cups in a plastic sandwich container, added the food, and put the lid on top. It worked beautifully for the perfect muffin tin on the go. I'm sure we'll be making many more of those!

Today, I made Stella a tin with a few of her favorite things.

She had Goldfish crackers, applesauce, a Minnie Mouse pb&j sandwich, gummie snacks, tomatoes, and yogurt with rainbow sprinkles (because everything is better with rainbow sprinkles). As usual it was a winner and she ate everything!

Breakfast {Muffin Tin Monday}

It’s Muffin Tin Monday time again! I know, I have been absent from the party for a little while, but I’m back today. The truth is, this is still the best way to get my kids to eat a meal. They love it!

This morning, while the big kids slept in, Stella had a Muffin Tin breakfast.

She had bananas, yogurt, toast with peanut butter, scrambled eggs, and grapes. She ate very well!

The only issue, now that Stella is two, she has become a bit stubborn. She sees herself as a big girl just like her sisters and insists on sitting at the table without a booster seat. She’s still a little peanut, but not in her mind!

Making Mondays Better! MTM!

Mondays are always better with a Muffin Tin lunch! Simple meals are just so much more appealing when served in a Muffin Tin.

Muffin Tin Monday

Things are finally getting back to normal around the Adams’ house. We are settling back into a routine, enjoying some beautiful Spring weather, and aside from a few sniffles, I’m feeling well. So, I thought that there is no better time to get back on board with our Muffin Tin Monday meals. Here’s what Stella had today:

Bottom row: Goldfish crackers, yogurt, cantaloupe

As always, even the most ordinary lunch is a hit in a Muffin Tin!

Stella’s First Muffin Tin Monday!

Lately I have been missing out on a lot of the fun things that I do with my kids because I haven’t been feeling well. But today, I am feeling great and I really wanted to do something fun with Stella. So, she had her very first muffin tin lunch! It was nothing spectacular, but she loved it none the less. Here’s what she ate:

I’m pretty sure that we will be having a lot more muffin tin lunches because she enjoyed it just as much as her big sisters always do.

Muffin Tin Monday-Dippers

With summer activities in full swing, it’s becoming more and more difficult to get the girls to sit still long enough to eat anything. They like lunches that can quickly be gobbled up so they can get back to the fun. Things they can dip are always a big hit so this lunch was perfect for them!

They had: tomatoes and cucumbers with ranch dip, mozzarella sticks with pizza sauce, and bananas with chocolate sauce

Rainbow Fruit Kabobs-Muffin Tin Monday

We decided to have a Muffin Tin snack this week, so we made some rainbow kabobs. I let the girls choose the fruits they wanted to use while we were at the grocery store and they did a great job! The only time I had to intervene was when Felicia wanted to use lemons for yellow. I didn't think that would be very tasty so I suggested pineapple instead.

I cut up the fruit and put it in muffin cups along with some of our yummy fruit dip. Then I gave them each a skewer and allowed them to assemble their own kabobs. It was a fun and tasty snack!

A Muffin Tin Meal

Muffin Tin Meals are usually done on Muffin Tin Mondays, but yesterday was one of those Mondays. You know the kind. When your weekend catches up with you and you are behind on everything only to be completely exhausted and you accomplish...nothing! Whew, it makes me exhausted just thinking about it! Well anyway, I forgot about Muffin Tin Monday. Madelyn reminded me of my forgetfulness today. So, we're having Muffin Tin Tuesday!

It was a simple lunch, but it made Madelyn happy and to me that's what matters most.

No, I Did Not Follow The Rules-Muffin Tin Monday

We had a super busy morning today.  But, I still wanted to throw together a muffin tin meal for Madelyn because she loves her Muffin Tin meals and we did not have one last week (although I did not follow the theme for the day). So, here is what she ate for lunch today. The chocolate covered pretzels were a special treat for being so patient while we were running errands. She was especially happy about that! Happy MTM!

A Spooktacular Meal!

This week's theme for Muffin Tin Monday is Halloween! I think the Halloween theme is my absolute favorite. You know, my very first muffin tin meal was a Halloween tin, 2 years ago! You can check it out here! That was way back before I knew the trick about turning the paper liners inside out so you can see the details. (Thanks Muffin Tin Mom!)

Well, this is what we came up with this year:

• A Mummy Dog (hot dog wrapped w/ crescent roll dough)
• Worms (Ramen noodles)
• A Jack O' Lantern (an apple half)
• Severed Bloody Fingers (carrots w/ pepper fingernails in French dressing)
• Spare Organs (kidney beans)
• A pumpkin patch (green pudding and pumpkin candies)
