Paper Plate Watermelon

Around here, our favorite summertime fruit is watermelon! So, we decided to pay tribute to our favorite snack by making a paper plate watermelon slice!

1. Paint the center of a paper plate with red paint. We just finger painted it because sometimes we just like to get messy!

2. Using our fingers dipped in green paint we painted the outside edge of the plate.

3. Last we used a Q-Tip dipped in black paint for the seeds.

4. Here you have it! Our watermelon!

* This would be the perfect project for this finger paint recipe!

  5. Great idea. My girls are big into watermellon right now. I haven't seen a seeded watermellon is years, I could see my little one asking why we're putting black dots on it, maybe we'll make ours with white seeds. I guess my kids will never know the fun of a watermellon seed spitting contest :)

  6. Sigh. If I did this with the kids I nanny for the whole plate would end up brown....
