Oatmeal Clay

This is a super easy play clay to make that has an interesting texture. I love trying different clay recipes and this was one the girls enjoyed because it was different.

What you will need to make it:

1/2 cup flour

1/2 water

1 cup oatmeal

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Stir until smooth. Add more flour if it's too sticky. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for a few minutes. Store it in an airtight container.

This is Felicia's cornucopia!

Here are Madelyn's sculptures!
And because I'm a big kid too, I made a turkey!

  1. Hey, I used to make my own PlayDoah with Kool-aid. I like yours, when it dries, you guys can paint it. Neat!

  2. Oh my goodness I'm so glad you posted this! My Chloe needs to play with different textures as part of her occupational therapy, this is perfect! I can't thank you enough. =)

  3. I've added it to my O week curriculum for our next run through the alphabet - looks like fun!

  4. Love this idea!! We will have to try it. I sometimes make cornmeal play dough this time of year.

  5. Love your site!!! I have a 2 1/2 yr old and I am always looking for new crafty ideas. Thanks for the help!!

  6. We just made some yesterday, my kids loved it.
